The AAMC and its Center for Health Justice submitted a July 15 letter to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in response to their request for information on the NIH-wide strategic plan for sexual and gender minority (SGM) health research.
The letter reiterated many of the recommendations from its 2015 response to the last strategic plan, plus additional recommendations to identify barriers to workforce participation, standardize the collection of sexual orientation and gender identity data in NIH programs, and deepen engagement with SGM communities.
